Algoritmi runs a hotel group in Takayama with no engineers on staff. Everything we sell was built to solve that, first — and only then offered to anyone else.
The origin
The platform has a customer that cannot walk away from it.
We started operating hotels in Japan in 2023 — five sites, 110 beds, and a back office of three people who had to price rooms, fill rotas, check guests in and order stock across all of them. There was no engineer, and the economics never justified hiring one.
So the cleaners and receptionists started building. That operation is now user #1 on the platform: 42 applications, 24 builders, three agents running daily. When we say review and staging are the default, it is because we had to run our own company on it first.
In 2026 four more companies — in elderly care, tax advisory, construction supply and software — asked for the same thing. The UK holding company was established in March 2026 to own and license the platform.
Why it matters where we come from
In Japan, 72% of IT professionals work at vendors — only 16% sit inside the companies that use the software. In the US that figure is 65%.
96.1% of firms with more than 1,000 staff run a digital transformation programme. Below 100 staff, it is 46.8%. That fifty-point gap is not a gap in ambition. It is a gap in whether there is anyone in the building who can build.
